👋Welcome! Everything is instant now. But that doesn't mean it's more satisfying. Let's explore how AI is reshaping what fulfillment feels like and why meaning may matter more than speed.
AI & TECH
🤖 South Korea Tests Autonomous Fried Chicken Delivery
KASA and ETRI successfully delivered fried chicken to remote Biyang Island using a drone-robot relay system. Over April, 80 test runs have utilized drones with a 40kg payload capacity, traveling over 3km across the ocean. While commercial services are five years away, the trial proves autonomous systems can navigate volcanic terrain and narrow alleys inaccessible to traditional vehicles.
🤖 Trump Leads Surge In Political Deepfakes
President Trump accounts for 58% of deepfake incidents targeting U.S. officials, appearing in 90 of 156 recorded cases. Together with Marco Rubio and JD Vance, these three figures drive 74% of all political AI threats. While targeting both parties, scammers favor highly recognizable leaders to maximize reach, raising urgent alarms about election integrity as the 2026 midterms approach.
🤖 Microsoft Hikes AI Spend Amid Rising Costs
Microsoft is increasing its 2026 capital expenditure to $190B, with $25B of that surge attributed solely to rising hardware prices. Despite these costs, the company reports a 29% jump in cloud revenue and 20 million paid Copilot seats. With a commercial backlog of $627B, leadership remains confident that massive investments in CPUs and GPUs will deliver long-term returns.
🤖 Altman Teases GPT-6 Release With Goblins
Following a glitch where Codex produced "goblin-themed" answers, Sam Altman joked that GPT-6 will arrive with "extra goblins." The quirk was traced to high rewards for creature metaphors during personality training, and it confirms OpenAI's accelerated roadmap. GPT-6 is expected to prioritize "continuous interactions" and persistent memory, moving AI beyond reactive prompting.

CAREER & GROWTH
📌 Raising Minimum Wage To $25
Democratic Lawmakers introduced the "Living Wage for All Act" to raise the federal minimum wage to $25 by 2031 for large employers. Currently stalled at $7.25 since 2009, the proposal targets a workforce where 45% of laborers earn under $25. The bill aims to eliminate subminimum tipped wages, ensuring the floor eventually tracks two-thirds of the national median.
📌 Compute Costs Outpace Human Salaries At Nvidia
Nvidia VP reports that his team’s compute expenses now vastly exceed human payroll costs. Despite widespread displacement fears, Jensen Huang argues AI automates tasks rather than entire roles, claiming the technology actually increases workflow volume. While only 20% of Gen Z workers feel immune to AI, high hardware prices currently provide a "cost-safety" buffer.
📌 IT Tickets Land In The Ghost Shift
Nearly half (47%) of all IT support requests now occur outside traditional 9-5 hours, fueled by the rise of hybrid work. Despite the shift, most tickets involve routine issues like password resets, yet resolution rates drop by up to 5% due to off-hour staffing gaps. Experts suggest AI automation is now critical to closing this "vulnerability window" and meeting 24/7 demand.

BIG THINK
Speed vs Meaning: Is AI Changing Satisfaction?

Satisfaction used to be tied to effort and time. You worked toward something, waited for it, and the result carried weight. In 2026, AI compresses that process. Answers, ideas, and outcomes appear instantly. What once felt rewarding because it took time now feels normal because it is immediate.
That immediacy changes how satisfaction is formed. AI delivers quick results, and research shows this kind of instant gratification reinforces repeated use and growing dependence. At the same time, people adapt quickly to new capabilities. What feels impressive at first becomes expected, creating a gap between what technology can do and how satisfying it feels over time.
There is also a tension between efficiency and experience. AI can solve problems quickly, but that does not always translate into a deeper sense of satisfaction. Many users report concerns about reduced human interaction, even as they benefit from speed and convenience. The task gets done, but the experience can feel thinner.
So is AI reducing satisfaction or redefining it? The answer feels layered. It raises expectations, shortens the path between desire and outcome, and changes what feels rewarding. Some experiences lose their depth. Others gain new forms of meaning. That leaves a more open question. Satisfaction may no longer come from effort alone, or from speed alone. It may come from how intentionally we engage with both.
AI can deliver results instantly, but it does not decide what feels worthwhile. That part still belongs to us. And that may be the most hopeful part of all. The tools are evolving quickly, but satisfaction is still something we shape. In a world where almost anything can be generated, meaning becomes less about what appears, and more about what we choose to value.
NOW WHAT?

Use AI to assist, but keep a role in shaping the result. Participation increases satisfaction.Notice What Feels Empty:
